The need to have the procedure lots and lots of times for it to look natural, the pictures of the guy with all this hair in the ads looks nothing like the guys I saw as a hairdresser, most seemed to give up after 1 or 2 times and never got a full head of hair just patchy looking stuff like a nursery of young trees...

I too have seen it mainly in people who are half way through the procedure or have given up half way. I guess everything needs patience before the results take over.:)

I think hair loss can be dealt with much more sympathetically than it is. My mother in law wears a wig and proudly admits it - but it doesn't look daft.

My Dad wears a wig - and somehow although it's well made - it does look daft.

Why do wigs suit women and not men?

I have seen some awful hair restoration on guys.

One fellow joined a hair club and all they did was shave off the little bit of hair he was using as a comb over, and glued on a hair piece.

His co-workers gave him such a hard time about the fake hair that he gave up and went back to a comb over.

Just goes to show that you really need to research a hair restoration business or treatment thoroughly before you even try it!

I think women's wigs are just made better.

The fact that hair loss is more devastating for women makes the market for them hotter, so more time is invested in improving the product on a regular basis.

yes this more likely in men, aging process contribute of having alopecia. the best thing to do it go for wearing of wigs, colorful hats or if your really want to have your hair back then spend money and have the surgery.

hairtransplantation can be an great procedure these days, some of the results obtainable are simply amazing BUT and this is a big but, this industry is a cut throat one and there are a lot of cowboys out there imo, so it is essential you do at least 6months intensive research before commiting to this kind of surgery. Take it from someone who knows, i myself made a bad desicion and had to spend over a decade hiding under a cap after recieving pluggy unnatural looking mini and micro grafts from a famous uk clinic.

The important thing is to not let travel be a deciding factor as these results are permenent and will be there for good so its not a desicion to be taken lightly, however if you use a good reputable surgeon with years of experience who performs the latest follicular unit transplantation or follicular unit extraction and not the micro mini grafts commonly seen here in the uk you should be ok.

Please dont let my sounding negative put you off as hairtransplants work and can look undetectable, and are simply incredible its just essential you go to the right place, thankfully after years of suffering my situation is heaps better and im on the road to looking normal again with the help of Dr Ron Shapiro in the US, please be aware that you only have a limited amount of donor hair at the back and sides of the head you can use safely to obtain a hairtransplant so its essential you go to a good doctor first and not waste any of this!!!
