I lost a lot of weight at one time. My upper arms were always massive and the weight loss hasn't helped the size of my arms except now the skin is very loose.

Someone suggested I have the skin cut off but I've heard tht the surgery is not only expensive and complicated but very painful as well. I'm not a fan of pain so I've been wearing sleeves that go at least down to my elbow.

I'm kind of used to the flapping skin but I would like to wear a cap sleeve once in my life but with my arms that will never happen.

Is this surgery as painful as I've heard and is it dangerous and complicated?

I have a very high pain threshold, so it's difficult for me to judge what you would call painful. It's a very manageable pain, that doesn't last too long. I suppose it depends on how much you want surgery, but I am overjoyed with the results I have had. I do have a long scar, but it's in just the right place, so that it is less obvious and it has now faded to white.

Certain laser liposuction techniques can be performed in the arms, leaving the patient minimal scarring and less downtime. Search in your area for a competent surgeon who specializes in laser liposuction.
