I was recommended Mr Gittos by a friend and went along to see him in his office at 108 Harley Street in London. He also sees patients and operates in Brentwood Essex. I had already seen a couple of other surgeons and so quickly felt completely at ease with Mr Gittos that I knew I would like him to operate on me. He spent a long time talking to me about exactly what I wanted to achieve and what I could expect and I am delighted with the outcome. One of my big worries was what happens if I am worried about something or there is a problem. Of course I haven't had any problems but Mr Gittos made sure I had his personal contact details and felt able to get in touch with him at any time. I think it is really important to know who is going to be doing your surgery and that they know exactly what you want to get out of it. Mr Gittos was perfect. I'm not sure how you can be so confident of this when you use bigger companies. I definitely benefited from the personal touch.

Hi Squish. Glad you found a good surgeon. What did you have done?

Squish,
It is wonderful that you found a good surgeon.
You did exactly the right thing and found somebody you could talk to and trust.

I completely agree with you about benefiting from a more personal service.
The bigger companies are simply using surgeons as contractors and this is completely the wrong way round.
The unique personal relationship between specialist surgeon and patient is absolutely paramount and there should be no middle-men (pushy sales people etc...)
This is why I think the bigger companies are suffering more than smaller surgeon led practices at present. They have huge marketing contracts and zero patient loyalty (how can you have patient loyalty when you change you doctors so frequently? - patients don't develop loyalty to an intangible brand, they're far smarter than that).

I wish every patient did their research like you did Squish. If you don't like what you are hearing or the sell is too hard then find a person you are more comfortable with, well done!
