Hello.
Hi everyone! I apologize in advance for this posting because I am not getting plastic surgery, but I need the help of those who are. I am currently a senior at Wheaton College in Massachusetts and am studying sociology and photography. I am doing an independent study next semester in visual sociology, and am seeking to do a photo essay about the process of getting plastic surgery. I was originally inspired to do this after my mom got the lap-band surgery a couple years ago and proceeded to lose 50 pounds in less than a year. The ups and downs of the process were fascinating to witness, and I am so happy that she was able to take charge of her life and take a risk that has made her a much happier, healthier person.
I want to tell your story, because if you are making a life changing decision, your story deserves to be told. That is why I not only want to photograph you through the process, but overlay interviews with you over the images. If you are getting plastic surgery in either January, February or March and live around the Boston/Providence area, then I would love to chronicle your journey.
