This 60 year old male went to shapiro medical group for his 6 month follow up recently. Dr Paul stated on another forum he was hoping to do a larger case on him but he had a tight donor area and his density was a bit below average. He covered the first two thirds of his scalp but did not do any crown work. If he wants his crown covered that would take another surgery.
With 2788 the doc covered a large area of about 130 sq.cm. He expects to see more growth over the next six month.
His graft distribution was as follows:
1 Hair FU - 628
2 Hair FU - 1641
3 Hair FU - 427
4 Hair FU - 88
Total FU - 2788
Total hair - 5543

hi jannet
let me introduce myself my name on here is bullitnut lol,
i had 2 very poor procedures in the uk and was horribly scarred you can read my blog at www.hairlosstips.co.uk. After over 10 years of hiding under a cap and thanks to an appeal my friends started on another forum, a doctor in america out of the goodness of his own heart offered to do my repair pro bono(free). I was extremely fortunate that the doctor was Ron Shapiro who is regarded by many as one of the very best in the world. My time in America and my experience was an amazing one and i got to meet patients and see results in person.

The results im posting are not actually of me, i myself am only 35 lol but as a thankyou and a gesture of goodwill, and hopefully to prevent people making the same mistakes as i did all them years ago, i decided off my own back to post a few results i have gathered to educate people regarding GOOD hairtransplant procedures and results.

In reference to your question i had a similar amount of grafts as this gentleman and it took from around nine am untill teatime to complete so its pretty much a full day procedure with a break for lunch and a choice of dvd's to watch.

A hairtransplant is not like a normal cosmetic procedure where you see the results pretty much straight away because the transplanted hair that is taken from the back and sides of the head sheds after 2 weeks(this is normal). Then unfortunately you have to wait 3 months for it to start growing again and it will continue to grow and mature until generally the full cosmetic result is visible at between 12 to18months post op, the waiting game is a real nightmare lol and a real rollercoster ride of emotions but the sight of hair starting to grow out of a once bald scalp after three months is a real jubilent feeling a can tell you.

As for cost the price varies from clinic to clinic and even though the clinic i visited is classed as one of the very best in the world the price is on par with most other clinics which is cool. And to be honest even though the procedure can work out expensive its only a small price to pay for happiness and regained
confidence as you all know on here with other procedures.

If you have any more questions regarding hairtransplants please feel free to ask as im here for the purpose of educating and helping people and am always happy to offer my advice even though im not a professional or a doctor, but i have had three procedures so i have got a wealth of knowledge on the subject, best wishes bullit

ps i will be updating my photos on my blog every month if you guys want to follow my progress and track my results
