Hi everyone

I have just had a consultation with the cosmetic surgeon for breast implants. We have chosen 270cc implants. I have been told I need to buy a sports bra afterwards. Any recommendations? Also will I need to buy a bigger one because of all the dressings & swelling. Forgot to ask him. Will have to call him tomorrow. :(

IMHO based on my experience of breast augmentation.

The key thing here is that every patient is different.

In patients who have never had the desired breast volume:
the implant is going to be a very tight fit (i:e you don't have the skin surface area required to cover the implant) the bra is less of a necessity. The skin will be tight enough to act as a bra itself and prevent implant malposition.
In my opinion, in these cases a tight bra can sometimes be counter productive as it may create shearing forces on the implant and prevent it bedding down and bonding with the surrounding soft tissues.

In patients who have had the desired breast volume but whose breasts have shrunk (post-partum atrophy)
In these cases the bra is mandatory.
A looser skin envelope means more chance of implant movement, rotation or malposition.
